IONIA was founded in 1972. In reality, however, its history is much longer, since IONIA was created as a continuation of the KERAMEIKOS factory, which was inaugurated in 1909. It used raw materials coming from the island of Milos and became one of the most recognized, for the quality of their products, hard-paste porcelain and faience industries in the Mediterranean.
